Building, welding and painting.
The Fire Tetris team has kept busy in the past weekends protecting our pipes from rust with STARTLING ORANGE paint, welding the suporting structure of Fire Tetris and installing solenoid valves.
It’s starting to look good…
L’équipe de Fire Tetris passe ses fins de semaines à protéger ses tuyaux avec une peinture ORANGE SURPRENANT, à souder la structure de support de Fire Tetris et à installer les valves à solénoïdes.
Ça commence à être pas mal beau…
Playing with fire: oxygen + acetylene
Most of these photos are from 2 weeks ago. We started building the frames for each panel of Fire Tetris using an oxy-acetylene welder, which is badass but slow. Since then we’ve borrowed a MIG welder – photos of that coming soon! We also finished all the panel manifolds, which means all the plumbing is done until the solenoids show up.
Don’t forget about our fundraising party on May 23 at Bain Mathieu. Get your tickets here!
Pipe dreams – The assembly begins
This weekend, a sunny and productive build with the Fire Tetris team! Pipes, brainstorming, pipes, greasy hands, and more pipes… We’ve rented a pipe cutter/threader to make all our custom length pipe pieces over the next week. It’s coming along well, one panel down.
Thanks to everyone who lent hands and got them dirty with us this weekend!
Charnival Hackaton – Montreal
Saturday April 4th, the Fire Tetris Team and other Charnival participants joined our friends from Site 3 Fire arts at Helios Makerspace to learn the safety and technical aspects of getting a fire art project together.
We then got our hands dirty and started to put together the first parts of the manifold and regulator. After this weekend of work, we forsee a great team spirit which will be most useful for the work we have ahead of us.
Thanks to Site 3 Fire arts for sharing your knowledge with us!
